Liquid Thought

Okay, the picture isn't really supposed to make sense without the related commentary. Since it was done as piece for John Wyndham's The Chrysalids, not many people would understand the names.

The concept is that water is like thought, ever flowing, shaping the world. The buckets represent our minds, useless without something to carry. The well is a meeting place for thought, which represents something different in The Chrysalids, but for the piece's sake, i'll assign a new meaning to it. The well can represent art. The joining of people's minds and expression of ideas to release emotion. The hearts and names, again, would make more sense if you've read The Chrysalids, so I won't venture to explain them. The black manakin, (yes it is a manakin, not a spider) represents a body with no thought or soul. One who can't make connection with thought is dead, and is a puppet to other people.

I'll probably revise this later, removing the direct connection with the chrysalids and improving the modelling and texturing of some aspects.. the insides of the buckets are so badly done.

All in all, I think I did a fairly good job and I love giving my own spin to homework.
